What is Erasmus Mundus?
Erasmus Mundus is a co-operation and mobility programme in the field of
higher education which promotes the European Union as a worldwide
centre of excellence in learning.
Who selects students and scholars for the Erasmus Mundus ATOSIM Master and how?
The Erasmus Mundus ATOSIM consortium selects the
students and the scholars according to their CVs, studies and academic
merit, motivation, recommendations, language skills, etc.
Please, check point 7.2 of the Admission Criteria.
The European Comission confirms this selection.
When and how will applicants know if they have
been accepted by the Erasmus Mundus - ATOSIM consortium and if they
have been granted a scholarship?
The Erasmus Mundus consortium will communicate to
the applicants if they have been accepted for the ATOSIM Master and if
they have been awarded a scholarship. The applicants will normally know
whether or not they have been accepted for the ATOSIM Master in May,
after the final approval of the European Commission.
Will the scholarship cover free tuition, living allowance, plane ticket, etc?
The student is expected to make use of the
scholarship to cover tuition fees, living expenses and travel costs
necessary to reach the Institutions of study. The student is directly
responsible for all costs incurred.
I applied in the program last year and I was
refused since my application was incomplete. Can I start a new
application process simply by sending the missing documents or must I
start from the beginning?
The entire application process must be followed each
time a student applies.
Students who have already applied for the program must follow the
complete application process when they reapply, from beginning to end.
Sending only the missing documents is not acceptable and the
application will be considered as incomplete.
The name appearing on one of my documents is different than the name on my passport. Will this create a problem?
The student understands that his/her name shall be
the same on all documents, as well as in his/her passport throughout
his/her application form and any further correspondence.
One of my documents may reach the admission office late. Will it affect my chances of getting the scholarship?
It is extremely important that we receive all
documents on time. This is necessary for the commission to have all the
documents when they meet to evaluate the candidates for the
scholarship. If the documents reach the admission office too late, the
candidate will be automatically excluded.
Are photocopies of the required documents accepted?
Only certified copies will be accepted. A certified
copy is an official copy provided by the institution concerned.
Photocopies made by the applicant will not be accepted.
I have all my certificates in the national
language of my country. Can I just send the official copies or do I
need to have them translated?
If the original of a document required is in a
language other than French or English, the student must provide both
the certified copy and a translation done by a qualified translator.
A "signed letter certifying that students are eligible for this funding" is required. Who must sign this letter?
Do I need to provide an English proficiency
certificate if I have had several years of instruction where the
teaching language was English?
If English was the language that the student used
for his/her instruction, he/she is not required to provide an English
proficiency certificate. However, providing a proficiency certificate
anyway would never hurt.
