Practical Information

The Students' International Office (BIE) of the ENS can help you with the technical questions about your journey, and also can give you a rough idea of what to expect in Lyons.

A guide is avaible on the BIE website.

Moreover, a buddy scheme for International Students has been created in the ENS.
Before your arrival, you will be put in touch over email with a "buddy" (another student in the ENS who will be your privileged contact and will try to answer any queries you may have about life in the ENS and in Lyons).
Your buddy's role is also to help you through the paperwork and administrative mazes you will doubtlessly encounter in your first days.

But first and foremost, your buddy will be someone you already know the day you arrive, and will help you integrate with the rest of the student population.

International Student Affairs oversees and co-ordinates various aspects of international academic relations. The office takes care of matters such as several scholarships and loans, visa applications, student registration and ID-cards. You can contact them if you need assistance with any of these issues upon arrival.

You can find more information here.

In this page you will find some information about the steps to be taken before and after arrival concerning: documents to carry with you, administrative procedures to follow concerning your enrolment, your permit of stay and your bank account and on looking for your accommodation.
